The Hummingbird is a bird with its own family (Trochilidae). The family contains the smallest living bird, the Bee Hummingbird, which can be as small as 5 cm. Hummingbirds can flap their wings rapidly, some even approaching 80 flaps a second. The Hummingbird drinks more than its weight in nectar daily, and is the only bird that can fly backwards.
In the Runaway Kids Universe, a Hummingbird is a Sun Dweller. They find it difficult to keep still, and their fingers attract small birds.

A New Zealand Medic named Rex is a Hummingbird. He is the only son of the late Adam Bluebird, the graphic designer for Legend.
